Experience the splendors of Northern Italy during this 12-day tour that explores the Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto regions—areas that offer richly varied cuisine and a distinctive array of wines. We’ll sample plenty of both as we journey. Trip highlights include:

  • Explore the medieval town of Bologna, home to Europe’s oldest university and to some of Italy’s best restaurants. Learn why Bologna is considered a “foodie’s paradise” and taste the local fresh pasta, tortellini, lasagne and tagliatelli.

  • Travel to the gastronomic meccas of Modena and Parma. Visit local food producers and sample regional cheese, ham, wine, and balsamic vinegar, and learn how Parmigiano-Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma is made.

  • Relax at the majestic Lake Garda. By boat, marvel at the impressive villas and towering mountains that line the shores of this beautiful lake.

  • Explore the medieval town of Verona. Visit “La Casa di Giulietta” in Verona, and relax in Piazza dei Signori, sipping on an iconic spritz.

  • Visit magical Venice and walk its ancient, narrow streets that line the canals. Visit the local food markets and explore the islands of Murano and Burano.

As always, participants can expect to immerse themselves in Italian culture with opportunities to learn secrets of Italian chefs, visit small towns off the tourist track and sample varied foods and wines.
